Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson had gone… gone to heaven to continue his singing and dancing…

Michael Jackson had gone… Leaving the world with pleasant and interesting songs… Giving us astonishing and amazing pictures of his dances… What else have he left behind for us? Giving us any enlightenment and inspiration?

Michael Jackson had already became famous from young. His whole life was exposed under the spotlight. Media was even happy to dig more of each and every move he had. Came along with Michael were applause, flowers, praise, criticism, envy, slander…  His nerves became like a tight string, coupled with his submissive character. All the way, Michael had never learned of self-relief and strike back for all these rumours and slanders. At the end, internal and external pressure reached its limits… the string broken…

There are many reasons for the cause of a disease. “Internal injuries by The Seven Modes of Emotions” is one of the most important pathogenic factors for causing a disease, in Traditional Chinese Medicine. “The Seven Modes of Emotions” (joy, anger, pensiveness, anxiety, grief, fear and fright) is closely related with the functional activities of our body organs. the seven modes of emotions is the different responses of a human body to the objective external world. It is a normal phenomenon of life activities and it will not cause morbidity to a person.

However,  in a sudden, intense or long-term emotional stimulation; more than the normal physiological range; and our body can not adapt to it; it later creates chaos in both our organs, blood, and qi (vital energy). This then leads to the occurence of a disease. At this time, the seven modes of emotions became the pathogenic factors, and one of the most important factors for causing internal injuries and diseases. This is known as internal injuries by seven modes  of emotions.

As mentioned in 《素问.阴阳应象大论》SuWen (Questions of fundamental nature) - Theory of the manifestation of yin and yang from the macrocosm to the microcosm, joy hurts heart; anxiety and grief hurt lung; anger affects liver; pensiveness hurts spleen; fear and fright hurt kidney.”

《素问.举痛论》SuWen – Theory of pain mentioned, “Various diseases derive from Qi, vital energy. Anger, then arise of Qi; Joy, then sluggish of Qi; Grief, then elimination of Qi; Fear, then downward of Qi; Pensiveness, then stuck of Qi; Fright, then chaos of Qi.” This indicates that different emotional changes have different effect on human body’s activities. Thus, the symptoms shown are also different.

Ancient China had this story 《范进中举》. There is a person called Fan Jin participated in imperial examinations. He had taken the examination in his life, until at the age of 60, he finally passed the examination. Because of over-excitement, he got mad. There are a lots of such examples, showing that psychic factors and emotional factors are closely related to the happening of diseases.

Michael Jackson was long time under the stimulation of joy, grief, fear, fright and other modes of emotions.  This caused the dysfunction of his organs. His body resistance declined. But, there was no immediate and proper treatments given to him, until the incidence of heart attack  and cancer.

These days, there is  a popular toy – “Howling Chicken” found in Singapore. It is a great way to ease and calm down emotions. While, Traditional Chinese Medicine especially acupuncture and moxibustion, has a unique advantage on prevention and treatment for this kind of disease.

Modern people are having rapid pace of life and huge work pressure. It is easy to cause emotional disorder. If a long time, the emotional disorder is not being resolved and treated, it will lead to the emergence of disease. Everything is concerned about prevention, i.e. nid in the bud. There is only once for a human life. Our health is in our own hands. Immediate change in bad eating habits, life style, following the natural way to suit with the nature. Only then, we can end our life with no disease. Otherwise, sickness is formed, chaos has arrived; just like digging the well when feeling thirsty. It will then be too late!
